Notes from April 10 meeting
Sharon and Karla did a fantastic job creating a Rubric and some guidelines. We tweaked both and published them in our googlepages site. URLs for them.

Since Sharon will be having surgery she did not think that this would be fair for a sub to have to administer. Everyone in else in the group had student will to go ahead with the e-Portfolio assignment.
Towards the end of the semster we will meet again and share our experiences and outcomes.
We will then have to create a presentation to demo for the staff in the Fall.

Notes from 3/27 meeting
Since this is just a pilot and we don't have funds or the time for selecting a hosting site, we decided to go with a freebie service.
Pbwiki site was OK as far creating web pages but, had difficulty uploading files, small storage area 10Mb. Great for collaborative creation of projects. But, not what we are looking for
Zoho site would be too difficult for students to learn to manipulate. Another great platform for collaborative projects, but not the best for an ePortfolio.
Google pages looks like it has the easy of use, functionality and probably just as important, name recognition and longevity. Google will be around for a while. Zoho or Pbwiki???
Next assigment will be to create a set of guidelines for students to use in order to complete assingmnet properly. In order to set the guidelines we thought we should first create a rubric to use. Once we establish a rubric we can reverse engineer the guidelines\instructions for the students.
Note: keep in mind that the rubric should match up with the core competencies.
Next meeting will be April 10 @ 11:00 am.

Meeting with Joyce Ray
Thank you Diane for sending me your notes from the meeting with Joyce. I am going to post them below my remarks about our next meeting.
1. We need to meet for about 30 minutes to firm up\tweak our proposal. It looks like we can all make it Tuesday March 4th @ 2:00pm. We can meet in the lunchroom area and decide where we should retreat to at that time. 2140?
2. Agenda for Tuesday:
- Please read Diane's notes (see below) from our meeting with Joyce R. and see if there is anything that we need to modify or add.
- Discuss who would be best to take notes at our meetings or should we approve minutes in future discussions?
- How to use this blog. (Room 2140 would be good for this)
- A methodology or scope and sequence of how we should procede from here. We need to agree on how the project should take shape and what is the best method to accomplish this. Come with your ideas of how to procede and what to watchout for.
3. I think we can use this blog as a daily notebook of our progress. I will cut and paste our conversations\work to Joyce once a month as requested.
4. Between now and next Tuesday think about what the methodology\scope and sequence should look like. Here are the links that Tina sent that cover eProfiles pretty well.

Summary of our Title III e-Portfolio Meeting on February 26, 2008 at 3:00 PM in Room 3303 BC MC
Charlie Hannon was unanimously chosen as the Team Leader. The Committee agreed to provide monthly updates to Joyce Ray, OA Coordinator. Before Spring break, the committee plans to meet to formulate a plan of approach. To assist in the formulation of this e-portfolio plan, Tina Dierkes is forwarding a white paper link on e-portfolios. Each committee member agreed to read the paper before the next meeting, which could be as early as Tuesday. Committee members also agreed to review the Title III Project Proposal Guidelines sheet which Joyce provided us with.
One of the outcomes of this project is the new instructional strategies are to be developed. The goal is to tie these strategies to core competencies for fall 2008 and to articulate them in selected course syllabi. The e-portfolio project will be assessed with the results presented in a Title III Assessment Reporting form. In addition, committee results, experiences and findings will be presented to the Outcome Assessment’s General Education Committee in either the summer of 2008 or fall 2008.
Questions and/concerns will be directed to Joyce as needed. The goal of the e-portfolio committee is to have work completed by June, 2008.

Accepted??
Got an email for Joyce Ray summarizing Outcomes Assessment activiy over the past 2 months. One item in the summary was the revealing that 4 proposals were accepted. I have heard through the grapevine that our proposal was one of the four. If I put the two items together I would conclude that our ePortfolio proposal was accepted.
According to Joyce's email, the proposals are targeted for approval during the Spring or Summer semesters of 2008.
Does anyone have an ideas of how we might use some of the Faculty Development $$$?

Notes from 1/15/08
Meeting in lunch area.
- Reviewed how Title III project was a continuation of an original AQIP project from Outcomes assessment.
- Discussion on the topic that the broader we made the project the harder it would be to implement and document.
- Sharon had a digital copy of a form already completed.
- Reviewed each section with great discussion on topics such as:
Where we would host such a site
Which classes would partake
If project would be for credit in each of these classes
Would it be a one time project or an ongoing career tool to use for students searching for employment
Tina Mentioned that the Career Center would be willing to partner in anyway.
Tina also shared her research on the ePortfolio projects in general
- Completed each section and had Sharon make changes to her electronic copy.
- Diane and Tina thought it would be a good idea to have an Administrator review what we had. Tracked down Janet and got her input.
- Sharon make those changes and emailed everyone the new project with those changes for their review.
- No one had any issues to bring to the group so the project was submitted and hand delivered to Joyce Ray on Thursday 1/17/08.
